WhatsApp To Shutdown Blackberry Service By 2017

The blackberry saga is really trending right now on the Internet, so much news and information on blackberry these days, even blackberry users, especially here in Nigeria have been looking at what alternatives can be taken, alternatives such as getting a new smartphone. I think going for an Android device or a possible IPhone might just be one of the best alternatives. Well a blackberry user can be the one to decide you may agrue though.
WhatsApp To Shutdown Blackberry Service By 2017
Few hours ago i added a post on Etisalat Nigeria officially stopping blackberry services, popularly known as the BIS, well this is not a good on though, in the post i gave out some quotes and pictures why this step taken by etisalat nigeria may have happened and possibly other network providers in nigeria such as the MTN, Airtel and Glo, who are yet to take such drastic actions might also follow suit soonest.

But you know what, there is a good news, even Etisalat Nigeria might just be reconsidering their actions taken earlier to stop blackberry services, BIS subscriptions; because now whatsapp one of the largest mobile messenger service has extended its shutdown on blackberry service to June 2017.

This means that the earlier announcement made by whatsapp messenger sometimes ago that it would no longer be supporting Blackberry OS and Blackberry 10 smartphones by the end of 2016 has changed.

According to an update in the FAQ section of the WhatsApp App it has now been extended to June 2017. A popular blog hinted from its posts, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms:

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 Nokia S40 Nokia Symbian S60.

That the following platforms will no longer be supported at the beginning of 2017:

Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 Windows Phone 7 iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

This is because such platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future.

Since some people have been trying to dispose their phones to get compatible ones but now i guess they would wait a little more.
